Meet Donny Baker, a home inspector with 5 years of experience and a solid track record of over 1,500 inspections. While he may not have a traditional construction background, Donny did dabble in mold remediation —so he knows a thing or two about spotting trouble in a home.

 Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State, Donny found that engineering was not his passion. After some soul-searching and a detour through the world of radon technology at ProTec, he discovered his true calling: home inspecting. “Who knew poking around houses could be this fun?” he thought, as he made the leap to a career he genuinely loves.

As a licensed inspector in Maryland, Virginia, and DC—plus holding a New Residential Structure (NRS) certification—Donny is ready to tackle anything from radon to termites to mold. He is even qualified to check out pools, perform advanced mold assessments, and can conduct advanced EIFS inspections. He is an expert in new construction, older homes, and luxury properties.

His journey to home inspection has been anything but ordinary, as he humorously reflects on his transition from engineering to this unexpected adventure. “It’s like being a detective,” he chuckles. “Except instead of chasing criminals, I’m chasing leaks and loose wires!”


What truly drives Donny is the thrill of investigating homes and uncovering their hidden secrets—problems that most people would not even notice. “I like to think of myself as a home detective,” he says with a grin. “And let’s be honest, every house has its skeletons in the closet—figuratively speaking, of course!”
